  • Gene Hunt will headline Thunder in London on February 1st. The producer has direct links to Chicago's house music heyday: after a youth spent immersed in the city's music, Hunt was given the chance to DJ with legendary Music Box resident Ron Hardy at the age of 15. Hunt ended up becoming Hardy's protege, which led to gigs opposite some of Chicago's most famous DJs and co-productions with the likes of DJ Pierre and Phuture. These days, his music appears on labels like Our House is Your Rush, whose parent label Rush Hour combed through his collection of reel-to-reel tapes to assemble their Chicago Dance Tracks compilations. His appearance at Thunder marks the first time he's DJed in London since the '90s. It's also the first party Thunder have thrown at the Dance Tunnel, the Dalston venue that will be their new home. Thunder's resident DJs Miles Simpson, Joseph Apted and Rick Hopkins are also on the bill for the evening.
