  • Emptyset have announced their latest EP, Material, for release on March 18th. According to The Quietus, the concept for the experimental Bristol duo's next release originally came from last year's Medium, which itself was based on recordings the band made in an old unfinished mansion. The group, apparently interested in the idea of "[exploring] the relationship between space and the fundamental properties of sound, applying extreme bass, noise and feedback" according to the press release, went on to explore three similar projects. Comparable installations at London's Ambika P3 bunker, a North Wales nuclear power plant (filmed for a Tate Britain exhibition) and a mine in Kent all provide the basis for Material. The EP will be released on vinyl and digital through Subtext Recordings, the Bristol-based imprint that released Medium. Tracklist 01. Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station - Snowdonia, Wales 17.12.12 02. Ambika P3 - London, England 12.12.12 03. Chislehurst Mine - Kent, England 02.11.12 Subtext Recordings will release Material on March 18th, 2013 on vinyl and March 25th on digital.
