  • NYC promoter ReSolute is joining together with hometown house duo The Martinez Brothers for a new event series called Mad Beats & Crazy Styles. The Martinez Brothers have seen their profile steadily rise in recent years, thanks in no small part to an increasingly busy touring schedule. In 2012 alone they played nearly 100 DJ gigs around the world, which included a residency at DC-10 on Ibiza and sets at other European hotspots like Watergate in Berlin and Concrete in Paris. Next up is Mad Beats & Crazy Styles, a new collaboration with ReSolute which promises "a night for true house lovers." It'll take place about three times a year, with The Martinez Brothers acting as both curators and residents. New Jersey-based deep house selector DJ Qu and Filsonik, a NYC artist who's previously collaborated and toured with The Martinez Brothers, are both billed for next Saturday's launch event in Brooklyn. Greg Paulus from No Regular Play will also be on hand—he'll bring his trumpet for a live jam alongside the resident duo. As usual for ReSolute, the party will take place at an undisclosed location, and tickets are available here on RA.
