- The veteran London duo will release their first album in 15 years next month.
Real Soon have revealed details of a new album from Ultramarine called This Time Last Year.
Ian Cooper and Paul Hammond released five albums between 1990 and 1998, including the acclaimed 1992 LP Every Man And Woman Is A Star, which was co-released through Rough Trade. The last of those five records, 1998's A User's Guide, marked the beginning of a hiatus that lasted some 13 years. The duo returned in 2011 with two comeback EPs—Acid / Butch for WNCL and Find A Way for Real Soon. This Time Last Year was recorded at the duo's studio near the Essex marshes, and according to a press release it draws on a mixture of "vintage drum machines, analogue synths, textural samples, acoustic recordings, electric bass and heavily treated guitar."
