Focal has introduced the Spirit Professional, a new headphone designed for studio use.
The French company is well known for its studio monitors (Pangaea had just snagged a pair when he sat for a Machine Love interview a few years back), and they've brought much of the know-how behind them to the world of headphone design. Like their monitors, the Spirit Professional was made with producers in mind: their large-cup, closed-type build and memory foam are made with lengthy sessions in mind. And their inner workings strive for neutral and distortion-free sound, meaning they're a suitable option for studio work in general. Focal even touts the cable—a "low-impedance OFC coiled" number—as an enhancement to "the transparency of sound" they offer.
Focal will release the Spirit Professional headphone in September 2013 for a suggested retail price of 259 Euro.
