- The 17-track album will be the Brazilian's first, and will come out on his own D-Edge imprint in October.
Renato Ratier has released details of his debut LP, Black Belt.
The project follows a string of EPs from the producer for Light My Fire, Warung Recordings and the Brazilian's own D-Edge Records. The latter, which is the label arm of the Ratier-owned São Paulo club, will oversee the release of his first album. Spanning 17 tracks, Ratier begins by unearthing his more leftfield influences, moving between melodic ambient, tripped-out electronica and disco. The second half of the album is more dance floor-orientated, with the likes of "Keymono," "Black Belt" and "King Funk" conveying the his love for gritty deep house. Black Belt will be available on vinyl, CD and digitally.
