Regis will headline two shows in the US this coming weekend.
The UK-based Downwards boss in the midst of a very active year—not only did his label celebrate its 20th year in business with a new compilation and drop a stellar full-length from hot commodity Samuel Kerridge, but he also had a hand in the Sandwell Districtfabric CD and the new Jealous God label. Needless to say, he's a busy guy.
Regis ha only had a few solo sets in America this year, with previous gigs landing in SF, LA and NYC. The Midwest is his destination this time, with a date in Cleveland on Friday and Chicago on Saturday. The Cleveland party will take place at the 78th Street Studios for Bent Crayon's Kallocain event, where Regis will be joined by Minimal Wave's Veronica Vasicka and local experimental music hero Prostitutes. You can grab tickets for that one here.
The Chicago shindig, meanwhile, will be a Downwards 20th anniversary celebration hosted by Oktave at Smart Bar. Back up this time comes from Chicago label associate Karl Meier and fellow local Mani Miglani.
