  • The latest mid-range Pioneer CD deck, the CDJ-900NXS, has just been announced. It boasts a number of features that will be familiar to those who have played on CDJ-2000 Nexuses, the Pioneer decks you're most likely to find installed at top clubs. (You can read about the history of CDJs in our second Industry Standards feature.) The CDJ-900NXS (those last three letters stand for "Nexus") has a full-color screen like those found on the higher-end model. There's also Beat Sync (for up to four networked decks), new Beat Divide and Slip Loop functions and the ability to stream tracks over Wi-Fi via rekordbox (provided you have a router hooked into your setup). You can play mp3, AAC, WAV or AIFF files, as well as good old-fashioned CDs. The video below gives the full rundown on this new release.
Pioneer will release the CDJ-900NXS in December 2013 for a suggested retail price of 1399 Euro.
