I:Cube, Omar Souleyman, Professor Genius and Etienne Jaumet all feature on the collection, due out in 2014.
Acid Arab is the name of production duo of Guido Minisky and Hervé Carvalho, as well as an EP series for Parisian label Versatile. The duo have been the driving force behind the series, which began earlier this year with Acid Arab Collections 01, a four-track EP featuring music from I:Cube, Omar Souleyman (remixed by Crackboy) and Acid Arab themselves. That was followed by a second EP, which featured Legowelt and DJ Gregory as Headcore among others. As the name suggests, the theme of the series has been to combine dance music with Middle Eastern flavours (the label says it's "a meeting of two music ghettos: acid house and oriental music").
Now Versatile will put out a compilation called Acid Arab LP that brings together one previously released track—Crackboy's remix of Souleyman—alongside unheard material. The 13-track collection features the likes of Professor Genius, Pilooski, Etienne Jaumet and I:Cube, and at least one well-known French producer working under an alias. As well as curating the compilation, Acid Arab contribute two of their own tracks: "Berberian Wedding" and "Samira." Though the compilation came out digitally in France on November 18th, it'll receive a full worldwide release in 2014. You can listen to a mini-mix of Acid Arab LP's tracks, weaved together by Acid Arab, over at the Versatile SoundCloud page.
