- Food will come out through the UK electronic juggernaut in April.
Kelis' next album will come through Ninja Tune on April 22.
Since her debut with 1999's Kaleidoscope, NYC native Kelis Rogers has had a history of working with distinctive producers and dipping her toes into electronic music. Her first run of albums—which spawned hits like "Milkshake," "Caught Out There"—were produced by famed hip-hop duo The Neptunes. Then on 2010's Flesh Tone she turned to full-on dance music, working with David Guetta and Boys Noize. She's also been a favourite for sample fodder in dance music, perhaps most notably James Blake's CMYK. Now she'll take that relationship even further with a full-length called Food on Ninja Tune, this time produced by TV On The Radio associate Dave Sitek, who has also worked with bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Foals in recent years. According to FACT and judging from first streaming track "Jerk Ribs", it'll take a jazzier tack than her EDM-predicting last LP.
