The DC club will host a weeklong celebration in March, and will also launch a new monthly on Monday.
Washington DC's U Street Music Hall is turning four this March, and it'll celebrate with a week's worth of birthday parties.
The 500-capacity venue has been operating with a wide musical remit since it opened, hosting events catered to both the underground and the mainstream and becoming one of the American capital's clubbing destinations in the process. For their fourth anniversary they'll hold a week of special programming running from March 16th through to the 24th. The first night will feature a completely surprise lineup, and then on the 19th they'll host Moombahton Massive (which became a monthly at U Street in 2011) with Nadastrom and Sabo, though the details are still waiting to be firmed up. LuckyMe producer and remix specialist Cashmere Cat will headline the gig on the 20th, and the next night boasts a diverse bill with Magda, Life and Death's DJ Tennis and locals Beautiful Swimmers at the controls.
The BLISS night on the 22nd will bring Dusky and Midland, while Steez Promo will bring some as yet undetermined bass music acts as part of their Bass Nation DC night on the 23rd. Finally, on the 24th, the week will come to end with a live set from LA duo Classixx.
U Street is also launching a new Monday monthly geared towards the clubbing industry and hosted by Bullitt Agency, with the first going down next week (February 3rd). Called Laundry Day, the first one will host sets from No. 19 Music's Eric Volta and Maher Daniel, DC local Jubilee and others.
