- The American Men member will drop his first album on LuckyMe in July.
LuckyMe has announced Claude Speeed's first solo LP, due out on July 28th.
Speeed is a prominent Scottish musician—you might recognize him from the LuckyMe-signed band American Men, or his other group, Russia. He was also a fixture on the club scene in Glasgow and its most prominent parties—at least until he suffered a loss in his family in 2011.
That traumatic event led him to quit his dayjob as a lawyer and travel abroad, all the while recording My Skeleton. The LP reportedly heavily features the sounds of "far away buses, trains, airports, cities, parks, temples, forests and jungles, floors, hotels, hostels, friends' sofas," and it was mostly written on a small netbook before Speeed returned to Europe and settled in Berlin to finish it. Mixing acoustic and electronic elements, the label describes the album as "a deliberate, dreamlike work about structures, economy, memory and loss," informed by his experience with rock bands, electronic music and modern classical.
