  • Egoist is the latest plug-in from Sugar Bytes. The German software company is best known for their innovative plug-in effects units and synths, like the Turnado and Cyclop. Egoist is a bit of a different animal, though it's certainly plenty of Sugar Bytes' personality. Described as a "groove instrument" and "track sketch tool," it's based around sample slicing. You load in any audio and use the slicer module to cut it into up to 16 rearrangeable samples, with controls like reverse, attack/decay and pitch for each. Then you can use the included bass synth and beat box to flesh out the groove. You can randomize everything, as well as sequence the effects. To get a better idea of the plug-in, check out the cheeky promo video we've embedded below.
Egoist is now available from Sugar Bytes.
