- Mike Paradinas will release the six-track EP through his own Planet Mu label in August.
Mike Paradinas will return to his µ-Ziq alias with an EP called Rediffusion, due out August 11th.
The DJ, producer, and Planet Mu chief has been pressing records under the name µ-Ziq since 1993. While listeners may know the pseudonym for high-speed breakbeats, impossible rhythms and jazzy, chaotic MIDI arrangements, Rediffusion takes a turn towards relaxed, quirky hip-hop variations. Planet Mu describe the record as "a thing of joy and hazy childhood memories." The label adds: "[This is] the music of the future as it felt in the early '80s, filtered through the rhythmic shapes of more modern dance music innovations."
Paradinas explored this sense of nostalgia on a recent mix for OKINI, which features snippets of TV themes from the '70s and '80s. You can listen to it below:
