The city's Cathedral Quarter will host four days of concerts, club nights, film screenings and talks in September.
Red Bull Music Academy will throw its first RBMA Weekender in Belfast next month, with Skream, Nils Frahm and Chez Damier all involved.
The get-together will run from September 25th through 28th, with all events happening in the capital's Cathedral Quarter. As with previous editions, the Weekender will shine a light on Belfast's rich musical culture, showcasing local talents alongside a selection of international guests. The festivities will kick off at The Bunatee in Queen's University on Thursday night, where RBMA alumni Timmy Stewart and DJs from popular club night Twitch will be joined onstage by The Juan MacLean.
On Friday, local favourites Bicep will lead a free workshop at the Oh Yeah Music Centre, followed by a night out at The Limelight in the company of Skream, Chez Damier and Special Request. Saturday will follow a similar schedule: Noel Watson, considered one of the first DJs to play house music in London, and Punk veteran Terri Hooley will give a free lecture alongside Greg Wilson, before the trio pick up Ashley Beedle and head to Aether & Echo for a four-way session.
The weekend will adopt a different tone at its close, as contemporary pianist Nils Frahm is joined by Derry-based duo Ryan Vail at City Hall on Sunday at 5 PM.
