- The four-track various-artists EP will drop next month.
Budapest label Farbwechsel is about to enter the vinyl business.
Started in 2012 by Alpár, Norwell, svndlr and S Olbricht (and originally a blog and podcast), Farbwechsel tends to steer towards house and techno's more obscure corners, with cassette tape and digital releases hosting a range of analog, often off-kilter beats. The label has primarily focused on Hungarian talent, but its first release on wax, a various-artists EP called VA01—which will come on white marbled vinyl with a screen-printed cover—is set to be an international affair. S Olbricht and Route 8, who's already a Farbwechsel regular, are both on board. Basic House, who runs the somewhat similarly minded Opal Tapes imprint, will appear as well, along with Lumigraph and Patricia, who've teamed up for a production under the name Black Mold. You can hear samples of all four tracks via the SoundCloud player below. Tracklist
A1 Route 8 - MDMD
A2 Black Mold - Virginia Slim
B1 S Olbricht - Flanhat
B2 Basic House - Boxlord
Farbwechsel will release VA01 on February 16th, 2015.
