  • Kazantip's first edition in Cambodia has been called off by local authorities citing "indecent tourism." The festival, which has roots in Crimea but took place in Georgia last year, was due to hold a ten-day event on Koh Puos island running February 18th through 28th. But, as The Cambodia Daily report, the festival has been called off. This follows several weeks of confusion between local authorities, Cambodia's tourist board and festival organisers—there was at least one previous cancellation, before authorities seemingly gave it the green light to go ahead. But now local and military police have blocked the bridge that links Koh Puos island to the mainland, according to provincial deputy governor Chhin Seng Nguon. "Our principal focus is on ecotourism and cultural tourism and we don't need indecent tourism," he told The Cambodia Daily.
