  • Scientists at Manchester University who are working on a cure for Parkinsons Disease have found evidence which may link Ecstasy as a key element in finding answers. Using Monkeys with Parkinsons as test subjects, the scientists had been giving the Monkey’s L-Dopa on a daily basis ( a drug to help cure the affected subject). However, a major side effect of the drug is the uncontrollable movement of the patients’ limbs. When given Ecstasy, the Monkey’s uncontrollable movements either stopped completely or were reduced by up to 85%. Robert Meadowcroft, from Britain's Parkinson's Disease Society has warned sufferers of the cruel illness against trying ecstasy at this stage due to it’s illegality and associated health risks.
