  • Civil Duty will release their self-titled LP on Anthony Parasole's label The Corner next month. Wanzer, a dedicated studio dweller whose archive of recordings has been issued via labels like L.I.E.S. and Nation, is a keen collaborator, having worked with Traxx as Mutant Beat Dance and Elon Katz as Streetwalker in the past. The same could be said for NYC resident Shawn O'Sullivan, who plays in Led Er Est as well as Further Reductions. The duo first emerged with their heavy analog techno sound on Security for Parasole's vintage crime photography-adorned imprint. Wanzer tells RA that this self-titled effort was mostly recorded live in two or three jam sessions, with some of the tracks dating back to 2012. The new LP precedes a showcase for The Corner at Berghain. Label boss Parasole has become closely associated with the Berlin club, Ostgut Ton and Marcel Dettman's MDR imprint over the past couple years. He's also announced an EP of his own, a two-tracker called Point God, which will come out The Corner this May according to Juno Plus. Check out samples from Civil Duty below.
