Floating Points, Scuba and Maya Jane Coles will all play the outdoor series this summer.
Piknic Électronik Montreal has announced the first half of its next season, running from May through July.
Piknic, now in its 13th year, will go down every Sunday at Parc Jean-Drapeau, with events stretching from 2 PM through 9:30 PM. Each party features a main stage presented by Moog Audio as well as the smaller Vidéotron Mobile area. The season will kick off on May 18th with a Maeve showcase featuring Mano Le Tough and The Drifter, followed by a holiday instalment the next day (for National Patriots' Day) with Maya Jane Coles and Heidi.
Highlights for the following weeks include Floating Points, Tiger & Woods, Job Jobse, Chez Damier, Matrixxman, Damian Lazarus and Kill Frenzy. Hotflush will have its own day on May 24th, with Scuba and South London Ordnance, while My Favorite Robot will take over both stages on May 31st, bringing Nitin, Flowers & Sea Creatures and Fairmont all along for the ride.
As usual, local artists are well represented. Prominent former residents Jacques Greene and Sinjin Hawke will both return to Montreal to play, while M. Bootyspoon, Maher Daniel and Iron Galaxy are all booked as well.
