  • Alpha Recording System have rolled out the specs on a new rotary mixer. The MODEL6700 follows up on the 4100, a four-channel rotary mixer built on the premise that less is more. "It is designed with purist ideals with only the essential features," the Japanese manufacturer writes. It may not boast many bells and whistles, but they've managed to pack a lot of functionality into this mixer. You'll find a three-band isolator on each of its six channels, with each band running from full cut to +18 dB. Each channel also has a send knob (with a return knob for bringing effects back into the mix) and an effects loop. Then, on the output channel, there's a five-band, +/-12 dB EQ. There's no word from ARS yet on price and availability, but Juno Plus says they've already been used at a number of clubs and parties in Europe, with examples including London's Oval Space and Ministry Of Sound. The MODEL6700 is coming soon from Alpha Recording System.
