The band posted the tracklist via Buzzfeed, with accompanying notes and GIFs.
The American duo first teased their latest LP, I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler, with a billboard in LA, promising that the record would come out in the fall through Downtown. It's their first full-length since 2011's Shangri-La, and as the title hints, it's an album about disappointment in the future.
Now they've let loose another key piece of information in an unconventional way, revealing the tracklist via Buzzfeed with a typical listicle post (what they call a "tracklisticle") featuring GIFs and notes for each track. You can view the whole thing here, and read a sample of the notes—in this case, for "I Wanna Fuck You Till I'm Dead"—below.
Sex is ridiculous. We treat it as a commodity—using nudes as currency traded for likes, swiping left and right and making dot com dudes millions in the process—but it’s the silliest thing, a completely ludicrous vulnerability, the only completely collective source of embarrassment and joy.Tracklist
