- The LP will land on November 6th via Hyperdub.
Kode9's first solo album, Nothing, is coming out in November through his own Hyperdub label.
Though Steve Goodman has released two collaborative albums—both with The Spaceape, real name Stephen Samuel Gordon, who died in 2014—Nothing is his first solo LP. According to Hyperdub, the record "throws horror soundtracks, sampled library records and J-pop into a no-man's land between grime, early dubstep and Chicago footwork." The Spaceape's presence looms over the record: the spaces on "Void" were originally intended to be filled by the vocalist, while the album closes with nine minutes of elegiac silence in the form of "Nothing Lasts Forever." He's also credited on a song titled "Third Ear Transmission."
Looking ahead, 2016 will see Kode9 embark on a live audiovisual tour with artist Lawrence Lek. The show is apparently focused on an "evacuated, fully automated, luxury hotel" called The Notel.
