  • Brooklyn label Mixpak will team up with Tryna Function to take over Trans-Pecos on Saturday, October 3rd. The two New York crews threw a collaborative event last month with UK selectors Palmistry, Deadboy and Murlo, and in July they hosted LuckyMe's Eclair Fifi. Their two-floor gig in October will have Mumdance swing through as part of his extensive US and Canada tour. He'll play upstairs, flanked by Houston rapper and producer Beatking (who will perform live), as well as STUD1NT—of the Brooklyn-based #KUNQ crew—and DJ Fourth Drop. Downstairs, Mixpak artists will go toe-to-toe with Zut Zut and Paul Marmota, two representatives of the Mexico City collective and record label NAAFI—whose wide-reaching catalogue touches on everything from reggaeton to industrial music. Imaabs, a Chilean DJ and producer with ties to NAAFI, is also scheduled to play the nearby venue Palisades the following weekend for the Purple Tape Pedigree party.
