- The electro pioneer's first LP in nine years is coming out on October 30th.
Egyptian Lover's new album, 1984, will arrive on October 30th.
It'll be Egyptian Lover's eighth album and his first since 2006's Platinum Pyramids . The record is titled 1984 because that's the year from which it gains its inspiration. It was in 1984 that Egyptian Lover released his first album, the landmark On The Nile, and he says 1984 was "recorded the old way with the old equipment" to create an LP of "pure old-school electro." The 12-track LP will be available on gatefold double-vinyl via Egyptian Lover's own label, Egyptian Empire Records.
