  • BMG and MGUN will play a New Years Eve party in Detroit, presented by the local label Freakish Pleasures. The so-called New Years Eagle event on Thursday the 31st will take place at Marble Bar—formerly the Detroit Eagle, a longstanding gay bay that closed in 2010. The space was renovated and re-opened as a live music venue under new management a couple of months ago. BMG, a key part of the city's techno scene whose Interdimensional Transmissions imprint is our current label of the month, and Don't Be Afraid affiliate MGUN are atop the lineup. Ryan Spencer, a member of Jamaican Queens, the abstract pop group who run Freakish Pleasures, similarly adventurous trio Ritual Howls and Ann Arbor artist Charles Trees are also billed for what the label describes as "a night of brutal dance music and the sleaziest party in town."
