Kolekti to host Sadar Bahar in Brooklyn

- The Chicago vinyl junkie will play an extended set at an evening loft party this Saturday.
- Sadar Bahar will play Kolekti's party this Saturday evening at a TBA Brooklyn location. The Chicago selector was among the generation of DJs who learned from Ron Hardy's much-mythologized DJ sets at the Music Box in the '80s. He's known for his prodigious collection of disco, funk and soul records. Bahar and his party-throwing partner Lee Collins also assembled the 2012 compilation Soul In The Hole for UK label BBE, which showcased the kind of rare records he's fond of playing. Brooklyn promoters Kolekti will host Bahar at an afternoon-into-evening evening that stretches from 3 PM to midnight this Saturday. He'll be joined by the like-minded local selector Turtle Bugg—a resident at both Bossa Nova Civic Club and the newly launched 808 parties in Bed-Stuy—plus resident DJs. The promoters promise a "beautiful secret open-air loft in Bushwick" as well as massages, barbecue and smoothies. Check out Bahar's RA podcast from last week below. Tickets are available on RA.
