  • Moodymann will release a 7-inch via Carhartt WIP on February 26th. The apparel company looks after a heady music program, and as of late, they've been taking a special interest in the Detroit legend born Kenny Dixon, Jr. For the limited 7-inch, Carhartt's wrangled an unheard, shorter version of the 2001 cut "J.A.N." The B-side contains a new song, "5800 Cass Ave" (which is the location of Carhartt's retail store in Midtown Detroit). That one is three minutes and 13 seconds long, referring to the Motor City's most prevalent area code. In addition to the vinyl single, the Mahogani & Carhartt collaboration also includes a few t-shirts and a UDJ DJ bag. Dixon just released his first ever commissioned mix for DJ-Kicks, a collection RA's Stephen Titmus says "continues to make Moodymann one of the most rewarding names in electronic music." Full info on the limited Mahogani x Carhartt collection is available over at the official site. Tracklist 01. J.A.N. (Short Version) 02. 5800 Cass Ave. Carhartt WIP will release J.A.N. (Short Version) on February 26th, 2016.
