- The Japanese producer's ambient-leaning second album will arrive in late April.
Field Records will issue Iori's Cold Radiance LP late next month.
Cold Radiance will be the 20th release for Field, the Dutch label that last year jumped into the solo album format with full-lengths from L'estasi Dell'oro, D.Å.R.F.D.H.S. and Kartei. (Field's 19th release, an EP from D.Å.R.F.D.H.S. member Michel Isorinne, came out in January.) Iori, a Japanese artist known for a deep and dubby approach to techno, has one prior album to his name, Nexus, which was released on DJ Nobu's Bitta imprint in 2012. He initially connected with Field two years ago for a pair of tracks on the Collection compilation, and this time the label asked him for a full album exploring more experimental and ambient sounds.
Iori says that while there's no specific message with Cold Radiance, "I was trying to make an aerial sci-fi movie soundtrack." Like the previous LPs on Field, this one will come on double-pack vinyl and digital formats.
