The duo will play five live shows with a third member, Lorenz Rhode, and they're also due to DJ in Miami.
Detroit Swindle are about to embark on a live tour of the US.
The Dutch duo of Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets, who're also known for running Heist Recordings, have already done a decent amount of stateside DJing. For these improv-heavy live shows, which comes shortly after the release of their new EP, In Reverse, they'll be packing a ton of their studio gear. Joining them on stage is German artist Lorenz Rhode, manning keys and talkbox. It'll be the first time Detroit Swindle appears in the states as a live group.
Five live shows, on the East Coast and then the West Coast, are confirmed, beginning tomorrow night in Washington DC, where the group helps kick off U Street Music Hall's six-year anniversary weekend. Friday night has them booked at Brooklyn's Good Room, and then they'll head to Miami, where Winter Music Conference will be winding down. On Sunday the duo will DJ at Last Resort—the all-day, all-night party's lineup also features the likes of DJ Tennis, KiNK and Honey Soundsystem. (Another DJ set is said to be in the works for Miami this Saturday—details are still scarce.)
Back on the live front, Detroit Swindle will next hit Cambridge, Massachusetts for Make It New at Middlesex Lounge next Thursday the 24th. Then they'll jet to Los Angeles to play an Outspoken event at Couture before wrapping up at Verso in San Francisco.
