- Horisontal Mambo will launch in April.
Prins Thomas has announced details of a new Full Pupp sublabel called Horisontal Mambo.
The outlet is inspired by the irregular "jams" Thomas held in his Norwegian hometown, Hamar, 15 years ago. (He later held them in Oslo with Full Pupp artist Magnus International.) Thomas says the music played at these events, which were generally attended by "a sitting and mostly hungover drinking crowd," spanned "everything from medieval lute and harp records to underwater sounds via Elton John, Grateful Dead, Basic Channel and ECM albums." That broad music policy will inform Horisontal Mambo, which launches on April 8th with two interpretations of Thomas's "Bobletekno" by Norwegian jazz virtuoso Bugge Wesseltoft.
