- Renormalon will come through WéMè Records "sometime in 2016."
A new Der Zyklus album, Renormalon, is due to drop on Belgium label WéMè Records at some point this year.
Der Zyklus is one of many projects attributed to Gerald Donald, the Detroit artist best known as half the legendary duo Drexciya. Donald has previously linked up with WéMè a handful of times, and in multiple forms, dating back to 2009, when he contributed a track as Heinrich Mueller to the split EP Drexciyan Connection alongside DJ Stingray. The label's also released some Der Zyklus material—a 2012 EP, Krypton 84, and a cut on their ten-year anniversary compilation in 2014—but Renormalon looks to be just the second album from the alias, and the first since 2004's Biometry.
WéMè's Facebook page slipped out a short video as a bit of a preview to the album earlier this month. It looks like at least a part of it is a collaboration with Minsk-based artist Elena Sizova, according to a recent Facebook post. Drexciya Research Lab, a long-running blog covering all things Drexciya, first reported its tracklist. (DRL also pointed out that the album's name is, as you might expect, a reference to theoretical physics.) Further details are still scarce, and WéMè has only offered that Renormalon will see release "sometime in 2016."
For now, tune into that 2014 Der Zyklus track for WéMè, "T4," below.
