  • Vancouver's Vibe Corridor has announced its lineup for April. The weekly was launched by Pacific Rhythm founder Derek Duncan, AKA DJ D.DEE, a few months ago. It happens every Tuesday night at The Boxcar, an intimate beer and cocktail lounge that opened up beside long-time Vancouver venue The Cobalt. The party is meant to offer a more relaxed experience than a typical club night. In the words of Duncan himself, it's an "apres work/gym/ski soundtrack with an emphasis on B-sides, AOR, jazz and other records that don't typically leave the domicile." Guests so far have included Jack J and Liam Butler of the Pender Street Steppers, Sipreano, Niña Mendoza and Samuel Scott. For April, Normals Welcome boss Khotin will take the reins, while Duncan spends some time on the East Coast. Khotin's guests for the month include local jack-of-all-trades (and Wild Zero man) Tyler Fedchuk, as well as Ultimate Lover, who works at Black Medicine Tattoo (the shop which used to house the Pacific Rhythm record store). Local producer Unknown Mobile is also on deck. 1080p affiliate Bobby Draino will kick off the April lineup next Tuesday the 5th. Take a listen to a recent NTS session from Draino, and his frequent collaborator D. Tiffany, below.
