  • The Avalanches have announced three live festival appearances for June and July. The legendary Australian group will perform live at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Field Day in London this June, followed by a set at Splendour In The Grass on home turf in July. They released the news in an understated manner via Facebook today, 24 hours after posting images on social media that sparked speculation over the band's return. The Avalanches, whose 2000 album Since I Left You has endured as one of the country's most iconic releases, have been mostly dormant for 15 years, save for the occasional DJ set. While a number of the original personnel have moved on, rumours of an imminent second album being have been circulating since the mid-2000s. It's unclear as to whether the live shows means that new material is on the way, or who will be joining remaining members on stage at the upcoming festival appearances. Tickets to Field Day are available here on RA.
