  • Glastonbury Festival has added another wave of electronic acts for 2016. So far, the UK giant has confirmed the majority of its main stage acts, as well as the lineups for dance music areas Silver Hayes and The Common. This fresh batch of artists are all playing Block9, an electronic music field that's popular with the festival's afterhours crowd (the music shuts off at 6 AM). Block9 comprises three stages: NYC Downlow (house, disco, funk, soul), Genosys (house, techno) and London Underground (dubstep, bass music, drum & bass, grime). For this year's edition, NYC Downlow has been expanded and redesigned in the style of a New York "meatpacker's warehouse circa 1982," say the Block9 team. This includes a second room, The Meat Rack, which will host acts like Eats Everything, Fouk and Jo Nathan. Highlights in the Downlow's main space include The Black Madonna, nd_baumecker, Honey Soundsystem, Roger Sanchez, Prosumer, Chez Damier, Tama Sumo & Lakuti, Midland and long-running residents Horse Meat Disco. The bill for Genosys, the field's only outdoor stage, is tougher, with slots for Mike Dunn, Joey Beltram, Mr G, DJ Deeon, Craig Richards and Seth Troxler. On Friday night, Hot Chip will DJ a set of Prince hits. Things get darker still inside London Underground, which this year has partnered with East London's Rinse FM. Shy FX & Stamina, Youngsta, LMK, Artwork, Hodge, Horsepower Productions and Nicky Blackmarket are among the names.
