  • Radio France has published the catalogue for its public vinyl auction, which is set to take place at Maison de la Radio on Sunday, June 19th. Around 8000 records, which are double copies from Radio France's 1.6 million-strong collection, will be up for sale. They'll be assembled in 424 bundles and organised in ten categories, including original soundtracks, world music, soul, funk, R&B, disco, rap and the public service radio broadcaster's own musique concrète productions. Highlights of the sale include records from Fela Kuti, The Velvet Underground, Pierre Henry, The Beatles and 7-inch copy of Syd Barrett's Octopus whose estimated value is between €6000 and €7500. The profits will be used for funding new acquisitions and Radio France's oingoing digitization programme. You can browse the auction sale catalogue here. Photo credit: Christophe Abramowitz
