  • M. Geddes Gengras will release Interior Architecture on Intercoastal Artists on July 29th. Gengras has slowly built up a reputation as one of the West Coast's key modular synthesists thanks to heavy touring and releases for labels like Stunned Records, Holy Mountain and Umor Rex, who put out his other solo release from 2016, Two Variations. Geddes is also responsible for a techno alias, Personable, and looks after the mutant dancehall Duppy Gun Productions project with Cameron Stallones, AKA Sun Araw. Interior Architecture was recorded over six years in California, Connecticut and The Netherlands. The label says it was conceived as a "impossible project," seeking to be simultaneously "stark and lush, sprawling and concise, analog and digital." Gengras himself provides a colorful description of the four sides of synthesizer music. He says: "At its best, it should feel like sinking into really warm quicksand or dying of hypothermia."
