We'll host a series of discussions and live interviews at Amsterdam's EYE Film Institute, with Dasha Rush, Surgeon and Objekt all involved.
This is the first time the Dutch festival has held panels, interviews and film screenings in addition to its main musical offering. This part of the programme, which will also include some film screenings, is happening on the festival's first day, Thursday, August 4th, at Amsterdam's EYE Film Institute, an eye-catching building overlooking the IJ waterfront. Entry will be free.
Resident Advisor will curate four hours of interviews and panels, running from 2 PM through 6 PM. There will be two live interviews as part of RA's Exchange series: one with UK techno favourite Surgeon and another with Three Chairs member Marcellus Pittman. Two panels will also take place. One is titled Inspiration vs. Process and features Objekt, Dasha Rush, Randomer and Palms Trax. A second panel with a focus on reissues has Young Marco, Rush Hour's Antal and Clone founder Serge locked in.
A series of opening concerts on the 4th will be held across EYE, Muziekgebouw and Bimhuis, with Cabaret Voltaire, James Holden, Tony Allen, Azymuth, Alessandro Cortini, Shackleton and Ernesto Tomasini, Matias Aguayo and The Desdemonas, Burnt Friedman and Jaki Liebezeit, and a Raster-Noton 20th anniversary showcase with Byetone, Kangding Ray and Grischa Lichtenberger all confirmed. There will also be a free club night at Tolhuistuin, located a short walk from EYE, with Matias Aguayo, Young Marco and Woody.
