The multi-purpose space—which received a 24-hour operating license last year—will close in July.
Amsterdam music and art space Cruquiusgilde will cease trading in July.
In an interview with Thump, organisers Pepijn van Wanin, Frodo Willemsen and Job Vermin explained that the decision to close Cruquiusgilde came after the local council imposed new noise regulations for their area. Cruquiusgilde, a temporary space which has been running since 2012 and was meant to be open until the end of this year, is unable to meet the new requirements. In the Thump interview, Wanin, Willemsen and Vermin say that after being granted the 24-hour license, the council was flooded with noise complaints from angry locals. In the months leading up to that, there had been none.
The past few weeks have seen Cruquiusgilde host techno acts like Korridor, Ø [Phase] and Dino Sabatini for slots. The closing weekend, scheduled for between July 15th and 17th, will be a more house-leaning affair, with Dana Ruh, Julietta, Nick The Record and Marcel Vogel locked in. Before that, Todd Sines lands on June 17th, followed by Etapp Kyle on July 2nd.
