Samurai Horo will release a pair of remix records based off tracks from Night Of Visions, Liam Blackburn's 2015 LP as Ancestral Voices.
The two releases bring together work from key Samurai Music Group affiliates and newcomers to the label family who are also known for their own adventurous production approaches. Night Of Visions Remixed Part 1 features Northern Electronics boss Abdulla Rashim (whose label connected with Horo for a showcase in London late last year) and the pairing of ASC and Sam KDC—their "Grey Area" remix is named after the ongoing collaboration between Samurai Music and ASC's Auxiliary label. This one's ready to ship now at Samurai's online shop, with July 1st as its formal release date.
Part 2, set to arrive near the end of July, will pack remixes from Samuel Kerridge, whose effort uses elements of two LP cuts, "Sleepless Night, First Light" and "Ritual Terre," and Pact Infernal. The label, hinting at future plans, says that duo's remix is "perhaps [their] most overt," and that it "just may be a forecast of what's to come for the debut Pact Infernal LP, due in late 2016."
The ever-busy Samurai Music Group also has one more Horo 12-inch about to drop. It's another remix record, simply called Horo Remixed, and only Horo artists—Ancestral Voices and Sam KDC along with ENA and Synth Sense—are involved.
