  • Things are changing within the Melbourne breakbeat scene. Saturday July 19 will mark the first event in the new series of breaks parties being run by Future Entertainment’s new division Future Breaks at Room 680. Placing themselves as a serious challenger to AgentMad’s 33 and 1/3 parties, “Future Breaks will be committed to bringing you the best DJ’s in the world and Australia has to offer in break beat and electro.” And to start the party series, they’ve booked none other than the king of nu skool, Adam Freeland (Marine Parade). Freeland has thrilled many with his sets in Australia, and took breaks to a new audience when he toured as part of the Big Day Out. Many are unsure what to expect this time with Freeland, as he has been playing more house tunes and working on his debut artist album with his band Freeland, slated for release later this year. Playing alongside Adam Freeland on the 'We Want Your Soul' tour will be Keltec, Ben Shepard and Future favourite Sean Quinn, playing under the moniker Progression. Playing in the frontroom will be Luke Bowditch, Boogs, Matt Wilko, and Agent 86, mixing up house and electro. Tickets are on sale now for $28.00 plus booking fee from Ticketek and the usual outlets around Melbourne.
