Pye Corner Audio will release the Stasis full-length via Ghost Box in August.
The prolific, analog synth-obsessed producer (real name Martin Jenkins) first emerged in 2010 with the first volume of The Black Mill Tapes. His evocative tracks—which span from John Carpenter-style ambience to slow, hypnotic techno—have since landed on labels like Type, Boomkat Editions and Ghost Box. Jenkins returns to the latter imprint for Stasis, following his 2012 Ghost Box LP, Sleep Games. This new one also seems interested in sleep states. FACT reports information on Stasis is scant, limited to a poster with two quotes—one from Arthur C. Clarke and one from Ursula LeGuin. The latter text reads: Sleeping people are so remote… Right here, but out of communication. That's what strikes humans as uncanny about sleep. It's utter privacy. The sleeper turns his back on everyone.
