- The "Orange Mistake" coproducer will return to Luciano's label with the three-track single.
Quenum, the Swiss producer best-known for his influential "Orange Mistake" production with Luciano, will release a three-track single called Solitaire on Cadenza Records in September.
Solitaire arrives more than 13 years after the release of Orange Mistake / Funky Dandy, a 12-inch that helped plot the blueprint for a new brand of minimal techno. Released around the same time as similarly revered minimal records like Ricardo Villalobos's Alcachofa and Thomas Melchior's Let's Go Deep, Orange Mistake / Funky Dandy featured many of the hallmarks that would become central to dance music in the ensuing decade—shuffling drums, strange basslines and bleepy synths—and was rinsed heavily by top-tier DJs such as Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin and DJ Hell.
Due out on September 2nd, Solitaire sees Quenum deliver three groove-led minimalist house tunes more subdued than his previous Cadenza outing.
