The UK producer's next full-length lands in November.
Max Cooper will put out his second album, Emergence, on November 25th.
The new LP, which follows 2014's Human, is intended to soundtrack 11 pieces of accompanying visual art, each one exploring a different idea of "emergence." The press release calls the concept "the story of the development of the universe, the way in which very complex things like human beings were created from the immaterial by the action of simple laws."
Each track and its video counterpart focuses on "the beauty of the natural laws and processes in operation," mixing film content with data visualizations, including "waves, spatial dimensionality and the action of the physical forces on matter." (Cooper has a Ph.D in computational biology). The label says the album incorporates influences from neo-classical, techno, post-rock and IDM. It features several collaborations with vocalist Kathrin deBoer (who also appeared on Human) as well as pianist and composer Tom Hodge.
Emergence will come via Cooper's new label, Mesh. Listen to the first single, "Waves."
