Ugly Duckling have certainly struck a chord with Australian hip hop followers, after the initial announcement of the Ugly Duckling Meat Shake Tour, demand for their larrikin laden shows spread so quickly around the country, that two shows have been added to the original tour schedule. The Australian tour will now encompass both Adelaide and Brisbane, alongside Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Perth so there is now no good reason for missing out on their charismatic hip-hop shows built on funky old school beats.
Having just finished a US tour with Prince Paul and Aceyalone, the guys, Andy, Dizzy and Einstein, have certainly come a long way since their time at the “Meat Shake” fast food outlet although the drive-through mic could certainly have provided them with the necessary tools of the trade!! Taste The Secret, their new album out on Earshot / Inertia on July 14th, is a fun filled ode to these humble roots! ‘Pass It On’ the first single from the album already getting loads of radio support around the country.
