  • A batch of UK festivals, including South West Four , Field Day and Rewind Festival, have been bought by media and entertainment group Global. Global acquired four events from Impresario: London festivals South West Four and Field Day; Rewind, which happens on Henley-on-Thames; and Boardmasters, a surf-and-music festival that's held in Newquay. It also bought Y Not and Truck festivals from Count Of Ten. Global also announced it had also increased its stake in Broadwick Live, a company that works with festivals like Festival No.6 in Portmeirion and Snowbombing in Austria. Global has been around since 2007. Its move into the festival market follows investment in the radio sector. It owns a number of UK stations, including Heart, Capital, Capital XTRA, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC and Radio X.
