- The local radio show turned record label will release Harmony From A Dominant Hue this week.
Sydney radio show Body Promise will release its first compilation, Harmony From A Dominant Hue, on October 28th.
After more than two years on the air at local station FBi Click, hosts Amelia Jenner and Doug Wright are starting a label with a 15-track collection of new music. The contributions mostly come from Sydney artists, with the exception of Melbourne's Elisabeth Dixon, Portugal's Elite Athlete and Mexico's Mya Gomez.
The label says Harmony From A Dominant Hue embodies their spirit of being "adventurous, transportive and unpredictable." Covering a range of darker club sounds—from "hard hitting techno to breakbeat rollers to percussive club experiments"—it features a number of established local artists working under pseudonyms like Rainbow Chan as Chunyin, Marcus Whale as Marcus (Not Singing) and Jarred from Black Vanilla as DJ Plead, as well as several fresh faces. It will be released on cassette as well as digitally.
Listen to "Levant Motors" by DJ Plead.
