  • Melbourne outfit Crown Ruler will launch a record label on February 20th, reissuing rare tracks from South African duo Focus. The Australian company has been around since 2000, touring and booking artists, hosting events and, more recently, selling hard-to-find records from around the globe on its online store. They'll continue down the path of international rarities for their first label release, unearthing music from South African artists Sello Mmutung and Keith Hutchinson, together known as Focus. The Zulu EP takes three tracks from the duo's 1983 cassette-only album, Zulu Disco, and, according to the label, ranges from "deep, Afro-centric, mid-tempo chuggers" to music "for the full dancefloor." Listen to the EP's A-side, "Hay-Hay."
