Works by Julius Eastman and Dominique Lawalrée are also being performed.
Taking place from September 8th through 10th, the Belgian festival gathers a broad spectrum of electronic artists, from the dance floor-oriented to the experimental, in Eupen's Alter Schlachthof. Ben UFO is curating a stage, bringing respected Golden Pudel resident Nina to the decks as well as Bruce, DJ Stingray and Electric Indigo, who will perform live. Jan Jelinek's Faitiche label has a showcase involving Andrew Pekler, Lucrecia Dalt and a set from Jelinek and Masayoshi Fujita. Dial Records and Sky Walking are teaming up for a showcase of their own, presenting DJ sets from Lawrence, RVDS and Nika Son, who will also appear live along with Sky Walking and Nowerk.
DJ Rupture has organised a performance of the works of the late American composer Julius Eastman, an under-appreciated presence in New York's avant-garde scene who's been subject to a cultural reappraisal following the release of his work Femenine on Frozen Reeds last year. Another underrated composer's work is being performed, namely Belgian Dominique Lawalrée, whose First Meeting LP was recently issued by Catch Wave Limited and Ergot Records. Other highlights from the first announcement include Vladimir Ivkovic, DjRUM, Errorsmith, Eli Keszler, Huerco S, Ramzi, Philip Jeck and David Toop.
