  • London-based label Melody As Truth is giving a wider-scale issue to Japanese Promotional Tool, a split release featuring Suzanne Kraft and label boss Jonny Nash. As the name might suggest, Japanese Promotional Tool first surfaced as a limited-edition cassette tape during last year's Melody As Truth tour of Japan. It brings together one solo piece from Suzanne Kraft, AKA Diego Herrera, and one from Nash, each "a series of experiments, collages and improvisations" that measures about 30 minutes in length. Today the label has made another small run of tapes available, along with a digital version. Melody As Truth's Bandcamp has both formats, while Amsterdam's Red Light Records and New York's Commend (a base for the Rvng Intl. imprint) are the only two physical shops stocking the tape. Japanese Promotional Tool counts as the seventh release from Melody As Truth. Last month the label put out Nash's Eden LP, which was reviewed by RA's Aaron Coultate.
